Now there also some combination which aren’t exactly matching. Hinayuki Usa and Izumi Sakurazawa doesn’t really have a very identical artstyle, or Hinayuki Usa and Risa Miyath ( Risa Miyasu’s given romanji name ). Another combination even less matching is Hato Rami and Kaori Minakami. But these pairs are more limited to doujin circle where there is no need to have matching style in the creation unlike game.

I was always under the impression that artists work together with similar styles for more commercial reasons; like being able to do the art work for multiple projects at the same time. Like with QP: Flapper, Ice & Choco and so on, they share the workload and probably get more work because of it with an in-demand style. That’s kind of part of it too, it’s that a style gets popular, and a style doesn’t have to come from the original artist. Just consider Fairy Tail and One Piece. Would Fairy Tail even be popular if they didn’t all look like One Piece characters? The world may never know.
