Umineko no Naku Koro Ni is the 3rd game in the serie of doujin game “When they cry”. People mostly know Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, for which I’m waiting the 3rd season, but it’s no Umineko. Included in this post some goodies to download !

Maria-chan kawaii ^_^

Umineko adopt a different atmosphere than the one from Higurashi, and to say the least, I quite like the gothic / victorian style they have. I have yet to play the game, but translation are available for it so I should soon.

The first time I saw Umineko was during C73 when I was searching for new doujin to download. I stumbled upon the Umineko Motion Graphic; it’s a movie composed of several images, few 3D effects, and a song, “Genyou no Chou”. The doujin circle behind it, ALTERNAIT, also made the Higurashi Motion Graphic. I have never seen them but the Umineko one was particularly striking to me. Compared to the original art, the Motion Graphic is clearly above and the song was beautiful. Not that I mind Ryukishi07 art but considering my taste it was inevitable.

The Motion Graphic also came with some wallpaper and 2 additional track. I forgot one because it wasn’t up to my taste, but the other one is actually my favorite song of all time right now, surpassing the ending of Gundam SEED. Title is “Imaginary Waltz”.

Music has always been a forte of 07h Expansion and the game doesn’t deceived in that aspect latter. Released at C74 was the OST. It’s also sold right now at Amazon.co.jp. I think that I once again stumbled upon that OST by reading some post on Animesuki. Armed with my Nico Nico Video account I clicked because I wanted to hear the full version of the opening, but I got on a medley of the diverse track of the OST. Sounding purely awesome. Too bad for the quality of the rip but I soon corrected this issue with some TTA on torrent and now Apple Lossless.

Umineko Motion Graphic 2 was also released during C74, but it doesn’t shine as much as the first Motion Graphic sadly. I hoped the music would have been as good as the first but it’s not in my opinion.

Considering this post has been mostly about music, here are my favorite track in FLAC. Next post about Umineko might be about the game or the anime!
